| Like the previous negative review, I had a bad employment experience with Gilead Group and its management. As was already mentioned, the company is owned and operated by two ex-cons and some of their buddies, who have padded management with old backstabbing friends and family members. (I say backstabbing, because plenty of times I was privy to comments that were less than flattering about the partners in the company, from the same highly paid people who were benefiting most from their alliances with management!). My pay was embarrassingly low for the amount of responsibility and duties I performed. It was verbally acknowledged many times, and I took on huge amounts of responsibility and duties that nobody else would tackle. Frequenly I was sought out by all levels of management and asked to take on complicated projects with zero support and little to no training. I always got the job done. The hard work and effort I put in to help build the company and make it successful, and the work I did for the other companies concurrently, was never financially rewarded. I was passed over for several key positions, and treated disrespectfully by many in management positions. It's definitely a clique mentality from a group of low-class West County (admitted) snobs, who are mean-spirited and unkind-successful only by virtue of being lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time for the right job. The offices are nice. The pay not nice, and the benfits are only good if you are one of those who gets all the extra perks, who earns 90,000 or more a year, or lucky enough to be married to someone with better benefits. Management is constantly focused on cutting costs and corners, to the point they are penny-wise, and pound-foolish. They liked to brag that it's a 'small family environment', but to me that was just lip service to make themselves feel good about pocketing huge profits and not sharing the wealth in the form of fair salaries or bonuses with anyone but other family members. In that way, it is a family business. Reviews are once a year and usually in the 2%-3% range. For someone making 9.00/hour, that means a whopping .18 cents per hour more, or $7.20 more per week. Imagine working for a company that rewards you after one year of service with $.18 CENTS MORE PER HOUR, from people who tell you to be grateful you got anything at all! Can we say corporate greed?! Shameful. Career potential for women over forty, and over 200lbs, is nil. Location: fair. |
